Tamara Gunziger, a former radiologist from Bern, is about to open her own bakery in Singapore. She hopes that people in the eastern town of Tampinees, where she now lives, will soon be eating croissants for breakfast. She's had a crash course in baking from an old school friend in Zollikofen near Bern. (Julie Hunt, swissinfo.ch)
Visited this local bakery called Creative Bakery at West Coast, located opposite West Coast Community Club. Plenty of interesting breads, cakes and other buns. Bought some stuff and decided also to try the Tiramisu cake. Had it when I got home, with some black coffee. The cake slice wasn't big but it was very awesome in taste!
Founded in France over 125 years ago, Paul Bakeries can now be found all over the globe, including right here in our own backyard at their latest shops at Assembly Row in Somerville, the Natick Mall, and Boston's Downtown Crossing. And while the recipes have been passed down through generations, the decor is an elegant blend of old and new... featuring paneled walls, checkered floors and faux bookshelves.
Located amidst the bustling shopping area in Chong Pang Market, Bread Fresh is one of my favorite place for "Roti Kaya"-A local version of baguette sandwich with butter and creamy coconut kaya. Freshly baked and made. Location is at Block 103, Yishun Ring Road, #01-65. The baguette is crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside and it stays that way even hours later. That's why I love it. Best eaten on an afternoon tea dunked in Chinese aromatic Coffee. Yummy! More Yummilicious stories.. Do subscribe and check out linamasrina.com

Popular April’s Bakery from Thailand is now dishing out hot pastries in the heartlands. The newly opened store specialises in baked Cantonese-style pastries, which are called ‘pies’. Each pasty or pie is filled with delicious filling like red bean mash, yam or taro paste, purple sweet potato, green tea and Thai milk tea paste. What’s great about the pies are the thin, flaky pastry, super generous filling. Watch the video for more details.

We dropped by Fortune Centre and came across Hotcakes Bakery & Cafe. This cafe is managed by the folks that operated Gokul vegetarian restaurant. We felt very welcomed here by the friendly lady who also operates the cash register. This cafe serves both vegetarian and vegan bakes and dishes. So far we only tried one of their cakes; the chocolate fudge. Really good. We are definitely coming back here next time. This bakery is located on the first floor of Fortune Centre building. You can't miss it. Vegan cakes are hard to come by, so we are very glad to know more vegetarian bakeries in Singapore are going towards vegan by having no milk and no eggs in their cakes. Milk and eggs are not good for human consumption in this day and age. Being more conscious of what you eat and avoiding animal...
